We went on a Hawaii cruise a few years ago.
2 main objectives, visit the astronomical telescope village on top of the extinct volcano. DID THAT!
Our other main objective was to see the Lava flows on Big Island.
We had booked a helicopter flight over the lava and a hire car to take us to the area where you can walk to the live moving lava.
The ship was in the harbour, 50ft from the pier, and just about to moor…….Suddenly a storm blew up……the water started washing over the breakwater and the ship started moving about!
The captain cancelled the shore visit and we promptly left the harbour for the safety of the open sea! Can't fault his judgement, the possibility of damage to the ship was considerable!
HOWEVER that didn't stop me being mad!
SO…..
Where would I like to go? Back to see the lava!
What would I do? Take the helicopter ride and walk to the edge!
